Norwegian musician and producer Geir Jenssen, later known as a member of Bel Canto and the mastermind behind his Biosphere solo moniker, started his journey into the world of electronic music with E-Man. While his output from the early 1980s is enshrined in mystery, a unique innovator was well-formed with 1984’s E-Man. The synth-funk and house music influences are strong across unexpectedly sunny tunes like ‘The Difference’ and ‘De Du Da Da Di’, and a Kraftwerkian sense of machine-as-mood-instrument shines through on both parts of ‘The Upland’, while ‘Visjoiner’ has a distinctly post-punk driving force.
