After travelling to Uganda for a residency at Nyege Nyege Villa, the Berlin-based veteran producer known to his mates as Shigeru Ishihara left with newfound perspectives in ear-shattering and rib-rattling. Restarting his Scotch Rolex alias, Scotch enlists a host of Ugandan experimental linchpins for the brutal racket of Tewari, and it’s a record loaded with the crushing sonics we’ve been lapping up lately; avant-dancehall abstractions with Chrisman, black metal trap beasts with Lord Spikeheart and glitch rap swang with MC Yallah.
