John Beltran revives his Placid Angles alias for a new LP, having first sprung to life way back in 1997 and only released a handful of sporadic records since. Touch The Earth encompasses stepping house bubblers, uptempo breaks, frenetic UKG and nineties leaning braindance, all interspersed with moments of breathy ambience. Lighter moments like ‘Natsukashii’ sound like a tropical house track for a sunset at a rave in ‘92, whereas there’s bigger standout moments to be found like the emotive, organic junglism of ‘Beauty Begins With Us’. Colourful takes on an array of dancefloor tempos, with refreshingly airy and atmospheric production.
