Originally from Dorset, now running operations from a remote part of the Scottish Highlands, multi-instrumentalist Kerrie J Robinson has always shown a pastoral flair with her music. That she’s found a happy musical symbiosis with storied musician Michael Tanner — known as Plinth, Cloisters and countless other monikers — shouldn’t be a surprise. The duo, appearing here as Thalassing, craft a beautifully bucolic scene with their self-titled LP; a particularly breathtaking rendition of ambient post-rock with a folk cadence, recalling salty sea air with the wheezes and drones of pump organs, sweeping guitars and piano.
