Central Processing Unit put out yet another stellar slice of bone-breaking electro from a master of the craft. While German producer Martin Matiske has been in the business of world-destroying electronics for a number of years, the fact that we’re finding him occupying the Blackploid moniker once again is all the more reason to celebrate. Cosmic Traveler begins by setting energy levels at an all-time high with the grizzly bass and synth whooshes of ‘Electric Engine’, and the acid tones don’t stop coming. Timeless loops of hard-hitting rhythm lay down solid low ends as perfect counterpoints for the unruly, space-aged leads high up above.
