Arriving with his first EP for Analogical Force after his acid-Rephlex masterclass debut on Central Processing Unit, Mike Golding aka Bit Folder trades some of Silicon Frontier’s digitised aggression for implacably beautiful moments of tender ephemerality. Acid electronics bubble under the surface of ‘Diggigel’ and ‘Graculous’, but the overall vibe of Nogbad The Bad EP, with its emphasis on frosty pads, is one of inexplicable analogue placidity — and perhaps even some thoughtful melancholia.
