Neil McDonald aka Lord Of The Isles isn’t the perfectionist you’d expect from his meticulously detailed techno. His 2016 debut In Waves is the product of many years’ work, a bunch of tracks that happen to miraculously hang together nicely. ‘Skylark’ and ‘OmniMulti’ shine with an on-brand, effortless brilliance; bleeping cosmic electronic tracks as bucolic as they are undeniably infectious, replete with chirruping hi hats and remarkably organic snare sound. Linkwood and Tourist Kid prop up the flip side with some breezily ambient remixes.
