Genres

A reissue of the Underestimated EP, first released in 1998 on M-Plant by the iconic Detroit minimal techno maestro Robert Hood. A master of form and syncopation, these three tracks are a reminder of the hypnotising effect of techno in its purest form. ‘Black Man’s Power’ is pulsing body music guided by tightly clipped drums & circular synth motifs. ‘Sleep is the Cousin of Death’ is led by more striding melodies with a chopped vocal tucked around it, with pacey drums moving the tune forward like a train switching tracks, before ‘Hard to Kill’ harnesses the prang into an adrenaline-led roller.
