upsammy returns to Amsterdam stronghold Dekmantel for a magical follow-up to her debut album. Bend finds her gracefully traversing the blurred edges of downbeat electronica and outsider dance music, always with her own unique touch. Each of the tracks shimmer and reverberate with a hi-fidelity, ultra-modern shine. It’s a kaleidoscopic head trip, starting with the pillowy ambience of ‘Flutter’ and gathering momentum as ‘Spat’ and ‘Worm’ punch half-time kicks into the sparkling constellation of rhythms. Bringing things to close, the stunning ‘Metallic’ draws yet more inspiration from the focused sound palette and completes a flawlessly executed EP.
