A staple of Bristol’s modern techno and soundsystem culture for a number of years alongside the likes of Laksa, Batu and Lurka, DJ and producer Jurango delivers a quick fire EP of his raw and organic take on dance music. If you happened to check out his first Bleep exclusive mix, you’ll know that Retreat Ites heads into some esoteric percussive territory; mutated dancehall bass booms all over ‘Theeves’, as the title track echoes through a crevasse of dubbed-out snare hits. A cadence of Proc Fiskal rings out in the glassy techno chimes of ‘This Better Worth’ and ‘Compassed’.
