For a producer with a penchant for misdirection (see 2018’s ironically rave-ready Do Not Visit The Club EP), Paris-based DJ E00 is notably up-front about the ambient techno on Peace & Tranquility — that is, until you take a microscope to the finer details. ‘Flexible Ground’ and ‘Biosphere’ recall 1990s chill-out with their dream-like atmospheres, but beneath the bongo rhythms and glassy textures, there’s a teeming pool of vivacious life, as if the tones themselves are having their own micro-rave.
