London Records reissue Goldie’s landmark debut LP Timeless in honour of its 25th anniversary. A triumph in every sense of the word, Timeless had the range (and the length) to showcase both the grit and the art inherent in Goldie and his Metalheadz's vision of drum and bass. Jungle’s jazz breaks and quick cut samples are all there, but Goldie’s deft hand in layering and designing those sounds alongside a flair for the dramatic quickly elevated him to a star status far beyond his contemporaries. Having the hubris to start off his debut with a 21 minute, multi-suite track and the skills to justify that length didn’t exactly hurt either. This reissue wisely tacks on a third disc of rarities, drawing out the Goldie legend further with alt versions and a key remix from the one and only Grooverider.
