Heir apparent to the legacy of Traxman, DJ Rashad and the like, Slick stakes his claim as label upstart to the tune of rhythmic quick-fires, lifting influences from both sides of the Atlantic. ‘DESIRE PATH’ and ‘HOVERCRAFT’ draw from the percussive ammunition of Chicago juke, but can’t help but recall the euphoric impulse of UK hardcore, rave and jungle. The feverish combination reaches its height with ‘WAREHOUSE 2K’, while a devilish dub bassline sneaks its way into the low end of ‘DELHAZE’.
