After becoming accustomed to the idea of The xx’s guitarist and vocalist Romy Madley Croft as a distant figure clad in black, it’s a wicked shock to the system to hear her solo debut single ‘Lifetime’ nod towards vivacious Euro-dance. Having solidified her dancefloor credentials in the most life-affirming fashion, she gathers a troupe of top tier producers to remix her track into different flavours of dance music. Planningtorock spins ‘Lifetime’ into synth-driven electro tune and HAAi ups the drum treble for some extra kick, as Anz and Jayda G bust out the house keys for their takes.
