Blame’s ‘Lift Off’/‘Star Traveller’ represents not one but two exciting returns. Not only is this the first new single in nine years from the acclaimed producer - ‘Lift Off’/‘Star Traveller’ is also the debut drop from Over/Shadow Records, a new iteration of the seminal jungle label Moving Shadow helmed by 2 Bad Mice members Si Colebrooke and Sean O'Keefe.

‘Lift Off’ and ‘Star Traveller’ indicate that Over/Shadow has taken the baton of questing, wide-eyed drum & bass from its predecessor with aplomb. These tunes are at once hardcore and elegant, their breakbeats crisp and their sub-bass melodious. There is also a latent sense of euphoria to both tracks, be it in the radiant pianos and synths which spiral up into the stratosphere on ‘Lift Off’ or ‘Star Traveller’s disembodied soul vocals. Anyone who has missed the sounds of Moving Shadow and/or Blame in their years of silence will be thrilled by what’s on offer here - ‘Lift Off’ and ‘Star Traveller’ are the very best examples of that sort of wide-eyed junglism which made both label and artist such crucial players in the sound’s 90s heyday.

A hugely exciting release from 2 Bad Mice’s new Over/Shadow label - a direct descendent of the legendary Moving Shadow imprint - finding veteran producer Blame delivering two pieces of halcyon-glow drum & bass.
