Containing shades of label mate Joanne Robertson’s whisper-quiet bedroom production and Dean Blunt’s own forays into lo-fi pop, we have a hunch that Quarrel may even have these elusive artists’ fingerprints all over it. In any case, the hypnagogic pop sensibilities stay strong across the entirety of this mini LP. Clacking percussion and dreamily slack guitars crawl along, topped with some beautifully blemished hooks and outsider production aesthetics bringing to mind The Raincoats and The Pastels.
