Michigan composer and producer John Beltran follows up the sci-fi dystopia of 2020 with another futurist outburst of techno on Seventh Sign Recordings. Highway EP takes a similarly cinematic approach to electronics, albeit with a touch more optimism than its predecessor. The title track delivers on the front of chattering beats and synth high ends, while ‘Thank Goodness I Found You’ appears in two forms; one a blossoming flute atmosphere encased in a shuffling off-kilter beat, the other an ambient piece, pure and simple.
