Khotin returns to Public Release, following up his hit debut for the label, 2018’s Aloe Drink. The Canadian artist has sharpened his teeth with an exploratory album on Ghostly International, and now returns with his sights squarely on the floor. Dream Mentor is bright and lively, offering varied takes on a well-versed formula of rock-solid grooves and dreamy backdrops. The title track stretches out over eight-and-a-half minutes, pulling you deeper into Khotin’s washes of sound. It sets the tone for an EP of flawless warm-up and warm-down material.
