Conceived to be experienced by the lucky attendants of 2020 live shows — that is, until the entire industry was brought to the brink of collapse — Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds (ALT Versions) features stellar cuts all its own, further showcasing Vegyn’s forward-thinking balance of rhythmic innovation and emotive melodicism. The alternative versions of ‘Blue Verb’ and ‘Debold’ take on a subtler shade of wavy IDM-informed electronica, while the beat-driven originals ‘Fake Life’ and ‘Cowboy ALLSTAR’ tone down the percussion altogether, morphing into elegiac slices of ambient intimacy.
