“Fusion” Split is testimony to the ferociously independent and steadfastly outsider status of Paris party-planners Emma DJ and Ishaq. Part modern dance music, part maniacally revolutionary sound design, the fraught nature of commercialised dancefloors and warehouse raves are blown apart by the two sides of this disc. The first is dedicated to the electro-infused discordance of Emma DJ, synthesising blooping bass with switch-footing house menace, while the second showcases the more spacious, dub-indebted sound of Ishaq.
