Moritz Von Oswald gathered together well respected musicians and friends Sasu Ripatti (Luomo, Vladislav Delay) and Max Loderbauer (NSI, Sun Electric) to form Moritz Von Oswald Trio. In 2009 they released the album Vertical Ascent, four extended techno jams that really soar. Loderbauer twists textures with live electronics, Von Oswald takes care of mixing and sequencing while Ripatti adds twitchy, intricate rhythms. It's a bewitching, deep techno brew, nodding to dub reggae, African music, Krautrock, all with a psychedelic edge. An exceptional collaborative release.
