2020: the year the earth stood still — or, as producer John Beltran sees it, a year of mixed emotion. 2020 concludes Music & Quantum Records’ Lost Canvas series, and fittingly explores the emotional conflict of indoor confinement and political upheaval through the medium of futuristic techno. Light and dark tones emit from each crevice of this release, in the form of dancing synthesis on ‘Artful Echo’, and in the mechanistic, percussive chaos of ‘Tiger (Detroit)’.
