Heavy-psych luminaries Fuzz make good on the promise of their name once more on the III LP - their third album, unsurprisingly. The Ty Segall-led outfit, who also boast bassist Chad Ubovich (The Meatbodies) and frequent Segall collaborator Charles Moothart among their lineup, bring meaty riffs aplenty across the course of this record. However, while there is enough grit to the instrumentals here for III to verge on heavy metal, passages of exploratory sound effects and Segall’s typically well-heeled songcraft ensure that III is another feather in the cap for one of the finest psych-rock bands of the age. Fuzz indeed.
