The sixteenth instalment of RVNG Intl.’s long-running and intergenerational FRKWYS series continues its on-going challenge to the institution of avant-garde music with vocalist Ian William Craig and composer Daniel Lentz’s In a Word. As two kindred spirits with claims to post-minimalist composition, their collaborative LP is woven with delicately kaleidoscopic musical threads; shifting piano keys, the whirring of tape and an all-together operatic emotiveness.
