Following up some stellar discs on Deset, Germany-based Chilean producer and DJ Ricardo Villalobos returns to Rawax with another example of his unbroken run in restrained minimal techno grooves with the Neunachi EP two-tracker. If you’ve been keeping up, you already know how it goes. The first track heads up the mileage counter with a popping and clipping beat and some eerie ghost chorus vocals, while the b-side ‘Detrant’ finds a deliciously off-centre percussive core against faded field recordings and back-masked pads before resuming with a faster bpm than we’re expected to find from Villalobos.
