Ninja Tune favourite, DJ Food, a crate digging multimedia ensemble started by Coldcut, Patrick Carpenter, and Strictly Kev in the early nineties... Nowadays the DJ is just Kev and this is his glorious recorded comeback following a six year absence. Food ropes in some interesting names on the collab (sampled and live); Broken Keys Nathaniel Pearn, Jazz poet Ken Nordine, Dr Rubberfunk, The Dragons. All parts add up to a soupy, bluesy brew of tough breaks, smoky textures and jagged, funky noise splatter.
