Two of the Chromatics bunch feature here - one of which is the prolific Italophile Jonny Jewel - as well as vocalist Megan Louise. First released in 2009, Desire’s album II made the top 20 of Fact magazine’s Albums of the Year list at the time. This remastering gives the album’s synth-noir an even slicker sheen. Anyone enamoured with Jewel’s work in Glass Candy will find plenty to love here. Tracks like ‘Mirroir Mirroir’, ‘If I Can’t Hold You’ and ‘Don’t Call’ are the sort of sensual electro pop that Italians Do It Better have made their bread-and-butter down the years, while ‘Part II’ is a lovely piece of beatless wistfulness to close the album out.
