Carl Finlow aka Silicon Scally — as well as many other aliases — again reports for duty with the future-facing electro of Dormant. From the opening drum pattern of ‘V Electro’ — a gnarly modification of a familiar 4/4 break — through the scrambled breakbeat strangeness of ‘Bode’, we’re tossed into the fray of mutated electro bass and high-rising synths, which always seem to start at plus-10 on the cybernetic scale. While the unified, binary-aping aesthetic of Sheffield imprint Central Processing Unit’s sleeves make it hard to distinguish their releases by sight, the same can’t be said for the sounds within.
