While he might claim that he quickly becomes bored with a musical style as soon as he’s done with it, Sigur Rós member Jónsi reveals his restlessness of spirit and exploratory disposition on the shimmering alternative pop textures of Shiver. The influence of the PC music collective runs throughout the LP — in the synthesised landscape and hook-laden foreground of ‘Cannibal’, which features vocal trading between Jónsi and Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser, and in the amorphous minimalism and R&B-inflected beat of ‘Exhale’.
