Going for another victory lap upon his triumphant return to Black Acre, elusive producer Commodo follows up Loan Shark with another disc of noir-ish UK bass and dubstep bangers. Stakeout is aptly named for the low-key filmic menace of its tracks, each of which could neatly slide onto the score of a futuristic crime thriller; specifically, scenes of shadowy observation and street-lit pursuit. Creeping leads slither across the EP, beset by slow, heavy dub swings and earthquaking low-ends, as snapping beats break ‘Transit’ and ‘Crooked Law' into pieces of heady, insurmountable tension.
