True to its title, Profile Of The Lines embarks on a musical journey of sonic border assessments, seeking the delicious go-betweens. Pole’s ‘Fading’ begins proceedings with pseudo-house hypnotism, which later develops into Daniela Huerta’s synthesised mood piece ‘LeitMoti’, accompanied by searching spoken word passages from Cornelia Thonhauser. Samuel Rohrer and Vladislav Delay return to abstract rhythmic ambience with ‘The Grid’ and ‘Six’ respectively, as Jake Muir’s ‘Nilas’ and Hotel Neon’s ‘Monolith’ bring the disc to an eerily atmospheric end with foggy electronics.
