Elusive Dutch producer RX-101 offers up a Rephlex-flavoured addendum to 2020’s Serenity. Hearts Utd. picks up where its sibling release left off with likeminded enigma Brainwaltzera’s remix of Serenity highlight ‘Hearts Utd.’, fuelled by a jacking rhythm and a gooey, ambient centre. ‘Core Stage 101’ and ‘8-a02’ boost the bass, bloops and beats for a head bopping, AFX-attuned number, while the scurrilous clatter of ‘Switched Phases’ reveals yet another example of RX-101’s atmospheric sensibilities. Things get crusty with ‘RIP-AXL’, as a lo-fi drum pattern morphs alongside melancholic pads.
