Versatile Leeds-via-London jazz storytellers Nubiyan Twist return with another disc of open-minded musical theses toward utopian unification. Like any nurturing collective, this group-wide affair allows for a heady combo of styles and narratives, particular to each song’s guest vocalist. Ria Morgan fronts a gorgeously languid blunted-hip-hop-meets-Latin beat with a bright neo-soul sheen, as frequent collaborator Cherise and superstar-in-the-making Ego Ella May deliver vocal duties over tracks that simultaneously check spiritual jazz and breakbeat as their reference points.
