The confluence of many musical minds, Experimental Audio Research distill the sounds of Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3), Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) Porter Ricks, Kevin Richard Martin, and more on The Köner Experiment. The titular Thomas Köner, takes the ever changing lineup diverged from their usual gigs in the 90s and 00s to explore sound without convention, and manifests it in spectrally shifting soundscapes that lurch, groan, and shimmer. There’s a rhythmic drive to each track as they loop and subtly change, sounding almost like a minimal techno take on the experiments of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
