Washington DC producer Djoser lands on 3024 for a collection of protracted modern electronic bass numbers. Secret Greeting EP further showcases Djoser’s knack for a distinctly mutated beat, and truly, some textures rarely found within the confines of the nearest given genre. Clacking percussion drives the vertiginous, discordant synth dribbles of ‘Alumen’ and the shrill high-end of ‘Goose’, while the rhythmic signature is carried across to the shuffling, pseudo chill-out clatter of ‘Kidulum.’ A sly mix of acoustic and electric tom hits gives ‘Secret Greeting’ a bilious fury, distilling jazz influences into a futuristic left-field techno track.
