The third installment of WéMè Records’ ReQuest series finds the Detroit-based producer living up to the reputation of his city with a collection of top-tier electro tracks. Fans of The Exaltics, Jensen Interceptor, Assembler Code and the like will be able to sink their teeth into Inner City Force-Field’s squiggling basslines and snapping drum grooves. Generally ReQuest’s production style has that nasty squelch of machine-funk about it, but tracks such as ‘Mutant Reality’ also deliver bright, slightly jazzy chords in the keyboards.
