Parco Palaz infuses electro classicism with future-facing production on Surface. ‘Nomadology’ blends a rousing dub sample with punchy cyber-dancefloor boisterousness, sounding like the belligerent soundtrack to a dystopian urban environment, as the lilting synths and beats of ‘Burning Heart’ and ‘Sierra Nevada’ glide along with the power and speed of a hovering motorcade. ‘Equations’ nicely combo-breaks the smoothness with max-bpm abstraction, as spoken word excursion ‘Surface’ brings the EP to a strangely melancholic end.
