Despite the constant assertion, Icelandic group Sigur Rós were never really a post-rock group, and Jónsi was never really their frontman. Nevertheless, his debut solo LP Go showcases his artistic adventurousness in authoritative style. He explores the limits of art pop with the soaring, folk-indebted tunes ‘Go Do’ and ‘Animal Arithmetic’, the former aglow with vibrant orchestration, restless acoustic percussion and an urgent, youthful wanderlust.
