Erased Tapes mainstay Peter Broderick was commissioned to provide musical accompaniment to a series of murals by Brian O’Doherty. Broderick’s usual virtuosity appears in full on One Hear Now, paired with a conceptual flare. The 11 parts of the LP make up a 35-minute piece of restrained minimalism, revolving around variations on a melody with violin, synth and Broderick’s circular vocal meditation, perfectly expressing the imposing shapes and popping colours of O’Doherty’s murals.
