Given that Lausen’s discography prior to the release of Glorious Box Days consisted of a sole EP which was entitled Anti Static and released way back in 1995, you would have been forgiven for thinking that you might not hear again from the duo of Roland Casper and Stefan Riesen. However, Lausen reel in the years on Glorious Box Days, an LP of superbly-weighted acid house and techno. This material dates from the same era as Anti Static, a fact emphasised by the appearance of two cuts from that record among the tracklist here (‘Dry Ray’ and ‘Acid Inhaler’). Heard now, Lausen’s music comes off like a precursor to the sweaty, driving jack-tracks that the Balkan Vinyl crew would deliver years later.
