Two years on from the Anticlines LP, Lucrecia Dalt returns to RVNG Intl. with her new album No era sólida. This is another set on the outer-edges of sonic experiments from the Colombian artist. Across ten tracks here Dalt invites the listener into a realm of nocturnal reverie, a place where sounds hover in the air, pregnant with meaning yet remain hard to pin down.

No era sólida is an album replete with chittering synthesizers, droning electronics and scrunched-up textures. The artists who first spring to mind as points of comparison are those who deploy avant-garde techniques in ways that draw the listener in without giving too much away - Laurie Anderson, Carla Dal Forno and Throbbing Gristle to name but three.

Dalt’s vocals, which she uses to invoke her alter-ego Lia, appear periodically across the album. These exclamations, mutterings, coos and sighs move back and forth between intelligibility and pure vocalisation, adding to the sense that No era sólida is a record not entirely of this world. When moments of clarity are offered - the relatively unbroken speech that Dalt/Lia delivers on the closing title-track for instance - they are experienced as clues with which to unlock the riddle of this strange, beguiling, poetic album.

Lucrecia Dalt’s No era sólida lures you into a landscape of pre-vocal communication, intimate art-music and electroacoustic nightsongs. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the LP will be donated to the Colombian human rights/climate justice charity Tierra Digna.
