The Japanese experimental rock legends are as sonically surprising as ever on Sudden Fiction, their first LP for six years. A whole range of adventurous rock sounds are swirled up by the band across the record - yelpy prog, hard noise, motorik Krautrock and lilting shoegaze to name just a few. It’s a credit to Bo Ningen’s aesthetic command that they are able to bring everything together in a manner which still sounds very much their own.
