Remember how strangely beguiling Objekt’s music was becoming around the time of ‘Cactus’? You’ll get a similar vibe off of Rhyw’s new Loom High EP. These are all certainly club tunes - techno, and specifically the bassy techno being made by Bristol-based artists like Bruce and Batu, is the genre tag which first springs to mind - but there is a strange alchemy to the way in which Rhyw has constructed the beats here that nods to the unpredictable rhythms of Metrist.
