Souffle Continu continue to carve out a niche for themselves as one of the go-to labels for mid-century European avant-garde music with this reissue of Le Theatre Du Chene Noir’s 1971 album Aurora. This is a collection in which reed instruments, drums and voice are stirred together in a pseudo-primitive melee which sits somewhere between Alvin Lucier and Bernard Parmegiani. The audio has been remastered here and those who purchase CD editions of Aurora will also be treated to two tracks from the contemporaneous Miss Madona EP.
