On the Magnetic Service EP Tunisian artist Azu Tiwaline develops the sonic aesthetic of Bristolian imprint Livity Sound in exciting ways. The dub science and rolling techno paces that characterize many of the Peverelist-helmed label’s releases remain here, but Tiwaline also brings elements of northwest African Berber music into play which contribute to the Magnetic Service’s rolling polyrhythms and deft tuned percussion parts. It makes for a deep collection which stays with you long after the four tracks are over.
