After first linking up on 2016’s Cradle Of Humanity, Mulatu Astatke and Australia’s Black Jesus Experience join forces once more on their new LP To Know Without Knowing. Given how many great musicians Astatke has played with down the years, for him to say that Black Jesus Experience are his favourite backing is high praise indeed. The chemistry is palpable on this vibrant record, one which updates the Ethio-jazz style Astatke has been so integral in forging down the years with jazz, funk, fusion, hard-rock and more.
