A longtime outlier of electronic music, nobody could have guessed that Jam Rostron aka Planningtorock would team up with Michel Gaubert, sound director for Chanel. But PlanningtoChanel comes across as the perfect match of fashion, drama and Rostron’s genre-agnostic mix of classical and disco. Created for the Parisian fashion house’s Autumn-Winter 2020 show, there’s a hint of 1980s Madonna across these tracks, as a sampled vocal snippet snakes its way across thumping beats and sweeping strings.
