Originally released in 2009 on 12k, Italian electro-acoustic innovator Giuseppe Ielasi couldn’t have known how strangely prophetic his 13th (give or take) LP Aix would be. The LP, exhaling with brittle atmospheres and eerily comforting textures, such as those eking out of ‘Track 1’, ’Track 4’ and the swelling horns of ‘Track 9’ would fit snugly alongside the belligerent ambient works on Huerco S.’s West Mineral Ltd label, while an undeniable ethereal grooves drives the clipped percussion of ‘Track 2’ and ‘Track 5’ premeditates the skipped CD rhythms of electronic music still to come.
