Here’s another slice of left-field house from The Trilogy Tapes. Waon-P’s self-titled debut presents a strangely beautiful set of tunes full grit and character, with more emphasis on melody than many others on the predominantly avant-garde imprint. Both ‘BRF dante2infelno (donfellianoevrythingmix)’ and ‘Lisson’ build vibrant beats from electrostatic murmurs and echoed handclaps, while ‘Give Thanks’ and ‘Marcit’ lean heavier on blissful ambiences and rhythmic abstractions.
