With Train of Thought, Latvian composer and sound artist Reinis Semēvics aka R_R_ creates a veritable water world in a prophetic exploration of our steadily — or is that rapidly? — deteriorating climate crisis. But there’s great beauty across these nine tracks, melding enchanting melodies and drones with serene ocean sounds; electrified by synthesised arpeggios on the likes of ‘Deleting Doubts’, rendered with resonant piano phrasing on ‘Opening Up (Improv Take 1)’.
